TRUST..ONE DAY AT A TIME

Shemeca

What does it mean to trust in the Lord fully? Surely most of us can trust him to provide for us as far as ensuring that our bills are paid and we have food in the home. But what about those trials that come to take us out, such as the loss of a job, divorce, death of a loved one. Do we will still trust in God while dealing with these trials? What about when we are in that situation/circumstance that seems to last forever? I mean this situation/circumstance has been going on for six months, one year, two years, or even five years. Do we will still trust in the Lord? What happens when your back is against the wall, do you still trust in God? Trusting God fully means that no matter the circumstance, situation, problem, or issue you trust and believe that God is working it out for your good.

And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28 (ESV)

We are to put our trust in God even when we feel that the storm will never end, the doors will never open, and the break will never come. We are to put our trust in God when we feel like we are constantly bombarded with problems, issues, and concerns. We are to put our trust in God when you have been praying for that one situation/circumstance to come to an end.

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of that Almighty (2) I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust. Psalm 91:1-2

So you are probably reading this saying, yes that sounds all good and stuff, but How do I do that? You may be saying, I have been praying, fasting, believing, crying out for weeks, months, and even years. I hear you my sister, but you continue to put your trust in HIM. He said that he will not leave us nor forsake us.

Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6 (ESV)

A few months ago, I was praying and crying about a situation (that I’m still trusting God to work out), during this certain prayer time God whispered to me…ONE DAY at A TIME. You see myself, like some of you, feel that I have to know how my life will plan out life way in advance. You know what I mean, we say, well, I have to make sure that I will be able to do this or that. When we try to plan out our life, we get worn out, weary, weak, tired, stressed, depressed, and feel oppressed. God is telling us to ..Trust Me One day at A time.

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9 (ESV)

What if we just chose to trust him one day at a time? What if we chose to trust God to lead us and guide us ….not in some things, but in ALL things. It was a rainy day, and I was just reading, the sun peeked out and then a rainbow flashed across the sky. It was then that God spoke to me telling me that the storms may come, but in the end, the sun will shine eventually. Then sometimes a rainbow appears. So now every time it rains or I’m going through a storm in my life, I remember that the sun will shine eventually, and sometimes I will get an extra surprise (a rainbow).

But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. Jeremiah 17:7

God wants us to trust him…one day at a time. We do this by continuing to study his word and hold tight to his word with confidence and faith. We do this by continuing to pray to him and listen for him to lead us and guide us.

Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal. Isaiah 26:4

Trust in him at all times your people; pour out your hearts to him for God is our refuge. Psalm 62:8

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him and he’ll make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6

Although we may feel like they do, troubles, difficult situations/circumstances, and storms of life don’t last always. If we let HIMM lead us and guide us, he will give us peace while helping us to navigate through the storms, situations/circumstances of life. Trust HIM one day at time. He will see you through.

You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast because the trust in you. Isaiah 26:3
