There is so much going on here in the Houston are right now. As many of you know a major storm named HARVEY, made landfall in Rockport, Texas as a Hurricane and left significant damage to it and surrounding areas. Oh, dear HARVEY, left over 50+ inches of rain in the Houston area. I live in the Houston area, and I am safe and have not experienced property damage. But the emotions that are being felt right now are unreal. And HARVEY did not stop there, he went on to East Texas and Louisiana.
Who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. 2 Corinthians 1:4
Each of us have a role to play, as we help Texas and Louisiana recover and rebuild from this devastating storm. We each have a different role because we each have a different gift. Some people have the role to rescue in the waters. Some people have the role to intercede in prayer. Some have the gift to serve in the shelters. Others have the role to sort and prepare the care packages. Others have the role of providing comfort, encouragement, and restoration. What is your gift? What is your role in providing Hope after Harvey? If you don’t know, take some time to sit at God’s feet and ask HIM to reveal to you how he wants you to serve during this time. Ask God what HE wants your role to be in providing HOPE during HARVEY.
I challenge you get involved in the efforts in providing HOPE after HARVEY. Whether it is making a cash donation to a charity, helping clean up, serving at a shelter, donating items to a shelter, coordinating a donation drive, or interceding in prayer, etc. Do your part!! Praying for all those affected by Harvey.
Heavenly Father,
We come to you and give you all the glory and praise for giving us your grace and mercy. Father we pray for all the people in both Texas and Louisiana who are dealing with the devastation of Harvey. We pray that you give them strength, courage, wisdom, and provisions to rebuild. Lord we ask to comfort and restore. Lord we ask that you touch the hearts of others so that they are able to provide support financially, spiritually, and mentally. In Jesus name. Amen.
