HAPPY 2019!
I celebrated a birthday less than a month ago. The good thing about having a birthday during the the last month of the year is that I start my self reflection for the year a little early. The year of 2018 was an exceptionally tough year. Through a series of events that occurred during 2018, I had several revelations. But my most relevant revelation is:
*God is in control.
It is not that I did not realize that God is in control. But, my understanding of God is in control has been taken to a deeper level. I have a new and deeper understanding of HIS thoughts are not MY thoughts. I have a new and deeper understanding of HIS ways are higher than my ways.
(8)For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. (9) For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9
Other revelations include:
*God will work everything out for my good.
The good, the bad, the ugly and everything in between will be used for his glory. I can not wait to see how He will turn things around for me in 2019.
And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28
*Put my total and complete trust in Jesus Christ alone.
*Change is inevitable.
*Transitions are a natural part of life.
I may never understand the tough times, disappointments, or hurts, but one thing is for sure, God is in control of every aspect of my life. Although, it was a year of hurts, upsets, and disappointments, God was there for me and with me every step of the way. He promised to never leave me or forsake me. God keeps his promises. Because I know these things I can move forward into the new year with joy.
Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6
As you reflect back on 2018, keep in mind that God can and will use all those experiences for your good. While making your goals, plans, resolutions, etc for 2019, remember that God is in control of your life. You should seek Him, as you plan for the new year.
My challenge to you and myself this year is:
Trust God more this year
Expect great things to happen this year
Remember that HE is in control
Seek Him diligently for the plan that HE has for your life
God will keep His promises
His LOVE and MINE,
Shemeca
