Many are the plans in the mind of a man,
but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.
Proverbs 19:21
My life is not my own. God has a plan for my life. Wait, what does all this mean when it comes to pursuing goals? It means that you should pursue goals through prayer and guidance from God.
I am learning more and more how to set “loose goals”. This means that I pray for my goals to line up with God’s will. I am more successful when my dreams and goals are aligned with God’s plan for my life. I love how God plants big dreams and ideas in my heart. You know those dreams that I defiantly cannot complete on my own. You know the ones that I know I will need God and ALL His strength and guidance to carry out.
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord,
plans for welfare and not for evil,
to give you a future and a hope.
Jeremiah 29:11
God has a plan for you. He wants us to be successful. God will stir up your gifts, dreams, and passions. What you need to accomplish your goals and dreams has already been deposited inside of you. You may be pushed out of your comfort zone. Do not be afraid to get out there and go for it. Do not allow fear of not being good enough or fear of the unknown hold you back from pursuing goals that God has planted inside of your heart, no matter how big they are. Allow God to take the lead in pursuing your goals and dreams. He will provide resources and tools needed to accomplish goals when you walk with Him. You gain wisdom and guidance through your relationship God. God gives you the strength needed to move forward. Seek Him and listen to his voice.
Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually.
1 Chronicles 16:11
Be bold, courageous, and fearless. Stay committed and focused to what God has called you to this year and always. You are much more successful when goals are pursued with God’s guidance.
Now go out and slay your goals and dreams!
