“But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one.”— 2 Thessalonians 3:3
Thump, thump, thump… My heart pounded in my chest as I hung up the phone. Another piece of bad news. Another moment where life felt unbearably heavy. I found myself crying out, “What now? Can I just catch a break?”
Have you ever been there? That place where the pain seems endless and the circumstances keep piling up one after another? Life has a way of pressing us to our limits. Whether it's a broken relationship, financial stress, parenting struggles, grief, or challenges at work or school—these moments can feel like too much to bear. And I've walked through each of those storms.
But through every storm, one truth has remained: God is faithful.
No matter how many times I’ve faced hardship, my heart reflexively turns to the Lord. Honestly? I cry out to Him. Just like David did:
“In my distress I called upon the Lord; to my God I cried for help. From his temple he heard my voice, and my cry to him reached his ears.”— Psalm 18:6 (ESV)
There’s such comfort in knowing that we serve a God who hears. A God who sees. A God who is not distant from our pain, but faithfully walks beside us in it.
Even when it doesn’t look like it, God is working behind the scenes. Even when you can’t feel it, His faithfulness hasn’t wavered. He’s moving. He’s strengthening you. He’s guarding you, just like His Word promises.
“For great is his steadfast love toward us, and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever. Praise the Lord!”— Psalm 117:2 (ESV)
Difficult moments aren’t easy—no one enjoys them. But they do something in us. They shape our character. They stretch our faith. And they give us fresh opportunities to experience God’s unshakable faithfulness in deeper ways.
So if you're in a tough place today, take heart. God hasn’t forgotten you. Lean into His promises. Cry out to Him. He is listening—and He is faithful.
Reflection:
In what ways can you grow your trust in God's faithfulness during hard times?
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, Thank You for being our faithful and loving Father. Thank You that Your goodness doesn’t change with our circumstances. Teach us to trust You more—not only in the sunshine but also in the storms. Help us remember that You are always near, always working, and always faithful. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
