MECA's JUNE MINUTES

Summer Is Here! YAY!!! It’s officially SUMMER! Some of you are probably shouting with joy right now—and I love that for you! But if I’m being honest… summer isn't exactly my favorite season. Living here in Houston means facing heat, humidity, and bugs—and whew, it’s a lot!

A sunny day showcasing the city skyline of Houston against a bright blue sky.

Still, as I was reminded recently, Scripture tells us that everything—yes, even the heat, humidity, and bugs—has its season and purpose.

To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven:

2 A time to be born,

And a time to die;

A time to plant,

And a time to pluck what is planted;

3 A time to kill,

And a time to heal;

A time to break down,

And a time to build up;

4 A time to weep,

And a time to laugh;

A time to mourn,

And a time to dance;

5 A time to cast away stones,

And a time to gather stones;

A time to embrace,

And a time to refrain from embracing;

6 A time to gain,

And a time to lose;

A time to keep,

And a time to throw away;

7 A time to tear, And a time to sew;

A time to keep silence,

And a time to speak;

8 A time to love,

And a time to hate

A time of war,

And a time of peace.

This powerful passage reminds us that life moves in seasons. . Wherever you are right now, whether on the mountaintop or in the valley, know that your current season is not your final destination.

I’m personally walking through a challenging season, and this scripture has been an anchor for me. It’s a reminder that no matter what we’re facing, God has promised us that a new season will come. So don’t lose hope. Don’t give up.

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9 (NIV)

Keep your head held high, keep going, and trust that the seeds you’re planting in faith will bear fruit. The harvest is coming!
