I am participating in the Rescue Team for Crystal Evans Hurst’s new book , She's Still There.
Well one of the challenges given to us was to write three lies that we believe about ourselves and then replace them with Truth of what God says.
Here goes:
1) I am not good enough. (LIE)
Ephesians 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
When I feel like I am not good enough I need to remember that I am HIS workmanship. When others, say that I am not good enough. I must remember that I am loved by God.
2) I am unworthy. (LIE)
Luke 12:7 Why, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows.
God values me. I am so important to HIM that he knows the number of hairs on my head. Yikes!! God loves me!
3) I have done way too much in my past to be a leader. (LIE)
Isaiah 43:25 “I, I am the one who blots out your transgression for my own sake, and I‘ll remember your sins no more.
I might remember the ways of my past. Others may remember my past behaviors, but God forgives me. Not only does he forgive me, but he does not keep track of my sins. God truly loves me.
Seems like when I sum it all up it, there is one major theme. God loves me.
Romans 5:8 - but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
My emotions do not matter. Whether I feel worthless, guilty, ashamed, embarrassed, or not good enough. God loves me. I do not want to continue to get caught up in my emotions. I no longer want to allow those lies from the enemy to linger in my head. Different emotions come and go. But God’s love for me remains the same each and every day.
**It is your turn. Write three lies, that you believe about yourself. Now use Scripture to replace those lies with truths. You can do this. I am cheering for you!! You are worth it!!
HIS LOVE and MINE,
